THE TATTOO & VEST BRIGADE

I find it totally wrong that the person who wrote about the so called Oceana Tattoo & Vest was allowed to have his review published. What a load of old rubbish what they wrote. My partner and I were on that cruise and not once did I see a single person in any of the lower deck resturants in a vest. Yes people did have tattoo's, including myself. His or her point is. Grow up and get a life. Cruises have luckly come down in price so us WORKING CLASS people can have some fun and enjoyment. The cruise was fantastic. Everything about the ship was brilliant. There was only one thing that ruined my holiday and that was the rudeness of the so called self proclaimed UPPER CLASS english people onboard. It was these people who were to posh to wash their hands. As for the so called Oceana 5, total rubbish. Nobody got thrown off the ship for fighting and may I also add that the person caught shoplifting was about 80 years old so please don't aim as this to the younger people. It seems to me that looking by the date this person wrote their review, "ie the day we got home" this person hasn't really got anything better to do than moan. Oceana, totally fantastic ship with fantastic food, staff, entertainment and also very clean. If you want to go on a cruise then DEF DEF go on this ship. All our love, THE TATTOO & VEST BRIGADE.
Quality of Food5
Totally fantastic. All the resturants was very clean and the service second to none.
Entertainment5
Mike Zany was the worst comedian I have ever seen. Didn't laugh once and my kids told me most of his jokes last year. Apart from that fantastic.
Shore Excursionsn/a
Staff5
All the staff were polite, curtious and always said hello to you whenever they passed.
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activities5
Lying by the pool with a cold beer, priceless.
Cabins5
We had a disabled cabin with for the same price was almost twice the size of a normal cabin.

I think enough is enough with this thread. The original poster (Andrews) is using swear words and referring to people as "gits" on a site which is open to all people of all ages to visit. I think the entire post should be removed as it is totally destructive. As such I have reported the comment the the moderator and requested the entire entry be removed.

What thread are you reading then eh? I haven't used any swear words and the term "old gits" is hardly offensive now is it. The term is used on TV all the time. Am I not allowed to have my say? Am I not allowed to express my views? No it seems. If the thread is taken down because I am being truthful, honest and disagreeing with a total pack of lies then I will just write another one. Get a life for god sake.

Nice one! The comment you posted which started with the "B" word has thankfully been removed from this thread. By the way - it is "for God's sake" - please get that right if nothing else.

you cant argue that people arent entitled to their opinions, but do these same people really think that by moaning about the type of people going on cruises - will really do anything to stop it. these ships are huge...if you see someone who has decided to wear a vest, and has a tattoo, go somewhere else on the ship, or close your eyes. Until P&O start vetting suitcases for appropriate clothing, and ban tattoo's, you'll have to put up or shut up. its pathetic. and surely its up to the individual restraunts on board to uphold their dress code, not you and your upper class snobby policeman to stick your nose in

Andrews please do everyone a favour. If you ever cruise again please let us all know the time/ship & date as I'm sure everyone would avoid you & any of your supporters (if any) like the plague. Yes fine dining & good behaviour is why we cruise & hopefully avoid the yob culture of people like you. If you think your attitude is the way forward then God help us all & to respond your initial remarks about me acting as 'upper class' is so ludicrous it's laughable. I, like a lot of people who choose to cruise, work bloody hard, get up in the morning because I have to, to earn a working class living. What I don't do is then go on a cruise ship & bring it down to the level of a Magaluf burger bar experience. I think you should take heed of the responses or choose a holiday at a level which you clearly feel more comfortable with.

Question by ANDREWS, littlehampton (04 Dec 08 09:53) about a COMMENT by Wilba (03 Dec 08 23:10)
Well as a parting shot, without being rude or offensive, please explain to me where and when this so called yob culture was experienced. One person wearing a pair of Union Jack shorts should not put everyone into the same category. Mrs Baker said about a family of 5 being thrown off the ship for fighting. This was a lie because nobody got thrown off. She also mentioned the person caught shop lifting. This happened to be an 80yr old woman. I so nobody wearing a vest in any of the resturants and on the formal nights everyone seemed to be dressed to the standard required. I saw nobody drunk, nobody fighting, nobody screaming and shouting. People do have tattoo's and when it's hot they are going to want to take their tops off to sunbath. Is this a crime. Being a parapligic it was convenient for me to sit on a sunlounger. Yes people moaned when I asked to get passed. I had an old lady have a go at me for sitting in a disabled seat. I didn't responed, but I could have done. I had a woman tell me that I wouldn't fit in the lift with her in my contraption (MY WHEELCHAIR). I didn't responed but I could have. Most people would have but I sat and waited for the next lift. I had plenty of things that I could have moaned about but I didn't because it was just people being ignorant. So all in all I am not like the rest of these people. I knew that by winding people up I would get the sort of responses I got but had to put my point across. The wrong way? Maybe. So my point is, just because of the way people dress, the way they talk, if they have tattoo's does not mean that everyone is tarred with the same brush. If everyone thinks that I am rude and abusive then fine. If you all think I'm a yob then fine. I don't really care because there are far more important things in life to worry about than upsetting people. So goodbye to you all, working class, middle class or upper class.

What a sad, bitter person you are. We are working class. have our own business, work 12 hours a day, 365 days a year. Put some of our money away to have a break once or twice a year. We love cruising, love the dressing up bit. We are not ancient (YET) With P and O we have had the opportunity to relax with others who work for their living. We chose cruising because it wasnt like some of the cheapie land based holidays where anything goes. If you take the time out from calling anyone who has money, does not have tattoos, saves hard and who speaks a different language to you, you may well enjoy yourselves.. Most people we have met on our cruises are great. Money or no money. Old or young. Lighten up. We will still go on our hard earned cruises no matter what names we are called.

I'm sorry but are you thick or what? If you'd carefully read what I had written you would have surely noted that I did enjoy myself. Me having a tattoo does not give someone the right to label me. Me having a drink by the pool does not give someone the right to label me. I paid the same amount of money as the next person for my holiday and I take great offence to you bunch of twats who think cruising is all about fine dining and good behaviour. I gave this cruise 5 stars and met some fantastic people. Are you going to label them too then? If going to look at art is your thing then fine, but please think twice about labelling all of us yobs. Lying on a review board like Mrs Baker did is not on now is it? As for STEVENS, is that CAT or OLD DOG?

I'm sure if you read your reply you will realise that it is unacceptable and that you have reinforced the impression given by your review. You have done a lot of damage to P & O and Oceana.
