OV2 Crossover - Med. to Carribean

We have cruised with Ocean village on 3 prevoius occasions and have enjoyed each one. This was our first trip on OV2 and we enjoyed it just as much.
We ate either in the Plantation or Waterfront restaurants, enjoying them both. The Plantation offers exotic fayre such as Chinese, Indian, Asian etc. whilst the Waterfront offers more traditional food. In both restaurants, the food was generally of a very high standard, tasty and plentiful. However, the quality of the bacon at breakfast left something to be desired.
Our outside cabin on deck 8 was very spacious, comfortable, light and airy, with a large porthole, and was well maintained by our attendant.
We did not participate in general on-board activities, preferring the quiet of the promenade deck. However, we could hear that othe passengers seemed to be enjoyin themselves.
Service on board was of a good standard, with all staff being courteous and polite. Cabin attendants were particulary polite and helpfull.
Our sightseeing did not involve partaking in any of the tours arrange by the ship. We preferred to make our own way, having already done most of the tours on previous visits to the region. However, we particularly liked Gibraltar, having taken a tour by taxi along with 6 others at a cost of £12.00 each. This method of sightseeing is particularly recommended.
Entertainment is mainly by "tribute acts". On the whole, these are very good, although as you might expect, some are better than others. Particularly good was Annie Lennox, buth the star of the show was mercury rising, a tribute to Freddie Mercury. He was outstanding and receivied standing ovations for both performances.
Comedians were very popular and generally quite funny. Those of a prudish disposition should wear earplugs.
The house band and dancers were also of a very high standard, although one or two of the singers left something to be desired.
On the whole we thoroughly enjoyed our cruise and would happily do it again. In fact we are planning to do so in 2009. A 5 star cruise
