just returned from a 50th birthday present to New York on QM2 husband has never wanted to go on a cruise but I have always fancied it. was not sure what to expect as read so many varied reviews good and bad. boarded within an hour very impressed as so very busy, balcony cabin with obstructed view but personally worth every penny as used quite a lot fresh air sea breeze etc. cabins very spacious and very suprised the bathroom was so spacious , was expecting a box. \had a fantastric cabin boy \Joey who looked after us very well, again very impressed with the quality of food and service in the Britannia for all meals only small portions which was quite enough and if more was required it was available. Did not like the Kings court in the day as bit of a cafeteria but everyone to there own, food though no complaints just prefered to be served. evening in the Kinds Court ie Lotus Italian and Cavery a la carte which had to be booked in advance was great and a change on non formal nights. Entertainment was great but could have done with a comedian as a change and a better selcection of films which were awfull. Enjoyed things we do not normally do, playing games, talks, dancing lessons etc. tea in the balloom not to be missed but only managed twice (go early as gets very busy avoid on Tea dance days and doubly busy. scones as someone elce commented were very good, never felt so rested on a holiday, and nothing to do with not having the children. arrived in New York very excited had not booked transport to our hotel and get our own taxi, which I thought might be a problem plenty of taxis there and no que as I think we were in the middle of Bath Travel people who had there own transportation arranged. the only dislike was on one of the Ball evenings had a crowning queen competion and them choice her king. this was not what I expected from cunard-transatlantic/">transatlantic/">Cunard it was more like a Pontins or Butlins act not that I have seen one!!all in all a fantastic trip, husband now looking at brochures for next year I hope!!!
