misery on the Musica

we had the misfortune to be on the MSC Musica ship 2/11/2008 - 21/11/2008 from Venice to Brazil. Embarkation a total nightmare, endless disorganised queues. The ship is a beautiful well decorated vessel and was very pleased with our cabin, 11th floor, outside cabin with balcony, that is the good points out of the way. We were given 1st sitting for our dinner when we had requested 2nd, we joined a very long queue of about 100 people to change to 2nd which they did change for us but it was about 10.00om before we got our dinner which was cold, but we were optimistic enough to think it would improve as eveyone had now got there sittings sorted, but we were wrong, we never had a hot meal the whole trip. The staff were un-trained and had no understanding of english, even if you pointed out the meal on the menu it did not guarantee that is what you would get. Water not served with dinner unless you paid and no tea or coffee served after ymeals. The buffett was poor and by the time you managed to find a table the food was even. colder than in the dining room. The majority of staff were rude and in-different. Day time entertainment boring, bingo round the pool in 8 languages, very tedious.Evening entertainment only slightly better. Reciefe in Brazil was very intimidating and several passengers were mugged, why they stop there is a mystery. Disembarkation total shambles hours to get off the ship then to collect luggage from a huge room with only 1 door open so people pouring in to collect whilst prople who had collected their luggage then had to fight their way back why not open another door to leave by when you have collected luggage.? They had forgotten to arrange a coach to take us to airport and msc did not want to know.It was a german gentleman from another company that made arrangements for a coach to take us to airport, we just made the flight by the skin of our teeth, with no thanks to msc. This was our honeymoon, a holiday of a lifetime, well it's certainly one we will never forget, all for the wrong reasons. There was also a lot of illness on-board, flu symptons and up-set stomaches. I was told 70-80% of the ship had it. We are still not well today. We will never ever use msc again. The worse holiday ever

My wife and I were also on this cruise and I would reiterate all that was written about this review! If you did not laugh on this cruise you would have to cry. It all stemmed from two problems, too many inexperienced staff particularly waiters and management who could not organize the preferbial P**** up at a brewery!!! This coupled with the staggering decisions[ i.e. no jugged water] that were completely divorced from common sense and which only achieved upsetting the passengers!! I would also add that word of mouth is the best or the worst advert for any cruise company!! Can I also add that my wife is still unwell nearly two weeks after our return with a legacy of a cough that would make your toes curl!!
