Ocean Village - still difficult to beat

Decided to try this repositioning cruise and really glad we did.
Had been with Ocean Village a couple of years ago and appreciated it even more after sampling a rival company.
We particularly liked the large cabin which is well laid out.
Service was almost without exception accompanied by a smile. This seems to be a happy crew and even better, tips are included so that if you want to specifically reward someone for being exceptional you can do so without feelig that you should tip everyone( as you already have)!
Entertainment was excellent and we particularly enjoyed Abba and Fever. Village square and piano music was lovely.
One point we would like to mention as it does not seem to come up is the exceptional promenade deck on this ship - it is much more than a walkway and very handy in either poor weather or really hot weather.
Food is not a particularly strong point. Nothing wrong with it but not exceptional in the two main reastarants. However La Luna is a different matter. Well worth it for either lunch or evening meal and being on top deck gives it a very special feel.
Be prepared that Ocean Village is quite casual. If you like dressing up this is not the ship for you.
Did our own thing in ports with Madeira being a highlight. Great views from our cabin!
Overall a great holiday on a great ship. Pity that it appears to be heading for Australia as we don't think there is an adequate alternative.

I was also on this cruise and completely agree with all your comments. Especially ABBA - great fun. It is so nice to be encouraged to get up and dance, not only with the Freedom"Move show team but also Freddy Murcury tribute and Blues Brothers Tribute. I also loved the Tina Turner tribute. I have never seen a behind that can shake like hers !!
