We had two weeks on OV2 in September 2008 round the Western Med and loved every minute of the cruise. We did our homework before booking and as youngish!!, informal, look after ourself type people we booked an informal cruise aimed at those who dont do cruises. Sorry but yes this is a dig at a lot of others on the ship who spent two weeks moaning that it wasnt formal enough or posh enough. We booked a couple of tours to places we really wanted to find out more about, Rome and Pompeii, and were highly satisfied with the cost, tour guides and places visited. The rest of the time as we had gone for a relaxing break more than anything we simply got of the ship and went with the flow. If it was a fair walk into the nearest town then OV had shuttle buses which cost a couple of euros. Although even heard others moaning as it was 2 euros return into Livorno from the ship.
Having found a ship that suited us perfectly we have been devestated to hear that Ocean Village will be withdrawn after 2010 winter season and have therefore brought forward our next planned cruise from Sept 2010 to September 2009. We are going for Eastern Med next time visiting Greece, Turkey, Egypt, Croatia, Cyprus and Venice, all totally new places and experiences to us and counting down the days already.
I really would recommend OV to anyone who is not sure if they want to cruise or not, there really is nothing at all to worry about or think about, everything is sorted for you and most of the things that could be complained about such as the entertainment can simply be avoided. Give me a quiet corner, a book and a bottle of wine on a quiet deck at night and it makes working all year to pay for it worth it all.

| Quality of Food | |
| Excellent - interesting, authentic well cooked international dishes. | | Entertainment | |
| Joined in pub quiz a couple of times and used the Casbah for a quiet drink at nights | | Shore Excursions | |
| Rome with a tour guide - excellent despite the torrential rain. - NOT OV's FAULT DESPITE THE MOANS OF SOME PASSENGERS.
Pompeii and Sorrento, well worth the visit but would have loved more time in Pompeii, a good excuse to go again sometime. | | Staff | |
| Excellent staff, there to get you a drink when you wanted or simply laying down the drinks menu meant you were not bothered until you were ready to order again. | | Children's Facilities | n/a |
| | Onboard Activities | |
| Jsut enjoyed a quiet time at the back of the ship but activities available if required. | | Cabins | |
