We are 6 British Ex-Pats living here in Spain. This is our fourth cruise with this Spanish company. RCC have recently bought a share in this company. This winter cruise we booked a weeks cruisefrom Santo Doming, Dom.Rep and then a week in a 5 star hotel in Bavarro. This is the first cruise ship of their's , Pacific Dream ( a recent purchase) that we haven't liked much. The ship itself is nice, renovated recently but we all thought it had a horrid vibration and wobble.Whilst walking around the ship you felt as if the ship was in rough seas. We infact had lovely calm seas in the Caribbean. We visited some nice islands.
We have alwayse enjoyed the International cuisine on Pullmantur but this time we thought the food was not very good at all. The choice was poor and qute repetative. Hope this not RCC influence. One of our group always orders the fish but the same fish appeared three times during our weeks cruise. We are use to all announcements being in Spanish then English but this cruise had more French on it than any other nationality. The evening entertainment was very poor and very French, these silly mime artists, with white gloves and imaginary walls. In the past we have always enjoyed the all.inc drinks. They used to be all the good brand names but sadly now not so. The mixers particulary, served on draught were awful, ruined the gin and tonic and the rum and cokes. Sure on our other Pullmantur cruises that this was not the case, so do fear RCC are having some input. Luckily the 5 star, Grand Palladium all.inc hotel in Bavarro made up for it, would highly recommend it.lovely hotel, gardens, beach and food. This was not a cheap cruise and stay. Think we will think again before booking with them. We love the 1st class entertainment on RCC cruises and the reasonable priced drinks on P.O.

This makes interesting reading! We were at The Cruise Show at Olympia this weekend, and Pullmantur had a stand. A lovely friendly Spanish lady gave us loads of info about the ships, and they certainly look quite cheap compared with P&O/RCI - but it seems there is a good reason!! Has ANYBODY had a good experience????

Hi Fellow Ex Pats.....We havent considered Pulmantor due to being complete converts to RCI.Although we usually travel back to the UK which can be a pain.To us no one Cruise Company can complete for entertainment, style and beautiful ships.

Hi There I am a big Pullmantur fan also, and agree RCCI are expensive once aboard, you dont have to be over 55 to get the 2 for 1 deals it applies to everybody, try Vamos Holidays in the UK for the best prices, and Nextrips if you live in Spain

Hi Ex Pats. We have done 4 cruises with Pullmanturs. 1st was a week on the Med from Barcelona. The 2nd was a fly-cruise and stay, from Madrid to Aruba,wk cruise,wk all.inc hotel. Flights to and from Madrid are included. The 3rd was a cheap week (for us) as it went from Malaga to Canaries/Casablanca. Then the 4th,this winter one just had in Dom. Rep. This is the first ship we have been a bit dissapointed with. The food and drinks are normally great. We have done 2 cruises with RCIand I agree the entertainment is great but the drinks are a bit expensive after living here in Spain. RCI are doing a one week Med cruise from Malaga starting in June and they also have cruises going from Barcelona. I personally have never fancied cruising from UK as it takes 2 or 3 days to get to and from the Med, across that horrid Bay of Biscay. In saying that we have just booked our 1st MSC cruise, in April, to fly to Brazil, 16 days going back to Dover (ugh)but good deal. If you see a special deal in your local travel agent, oftenPullmanturs have a special 2 for 1 for the over 55yr.olds and if you havenot got flights to pay for it is then quite reasonable, give them a try. Happy and safe cruising. Carol.
