We have returned from our latest cruise with Princess on March 5th we boarded Sun Pricess in Sydney for a 28 day cruise around the coastline of Australia, the first port of call Brisbane did a ships excursion sights of Brisbane and river cruise did'nt feel value for money. Next port should have been Whitsunday Islands which had to miss owing to Cyclone Hamish and will have to return as would have been the highlight of our trip, next port Yorkeys Knob did a ships excursion via Skyrail to Kuranda returning by train which was very enjoyable, next port Darwin arranged our own day, not impressed. Next port Broome visited Cable Beach unable to swim owing to being Stinger Season, town of Broome has many attractions, the oldest cinema in Australia which features in the movie Australia also a Pearl Luggers museum very interesting. Next port Freemantle for 2 days, first day went on excursion into Perth and Swan River cruise well worth doing, following day explored Freemantle has lots of lovely restored buildings and an old prison an enjoyable experience. Next Bunbury visited the Margaret River area on ships arranged tour, not impressed and not worth the money. Albany we did our own thing which proved very successful as the locals run their own excursions, had a great time. Adelaide followed did the train ride into the city followed by tram which is free if you board in the city out to Glenelg which is a beach resort, there are many attractions in Adelaide city which we enjoyed. Next port Melbourne being Grand Prix weekend was very busy but enjoyed our time there. We then sailed to Tasmania first port Burnie did a ships excursion to Stanley and coutryside had a great time, Hobart next excellent information from Tourist Information Centre, visited Bonorong Wildlife Conservation Centre great place to see and learn about the Tasmanian Devil thoroughly enjoyed this.
