Princess Cruises - Ruby Princess
Ruby Princess
As the newest and heaviest vessel operated by Princess Cruises, the Ruby Princess is a well-appointed and luxurious ship with plenty of modern amenities and entertaining features. It was built by Fincantieri in Italy, along with its sister ship the Emerald Princess, and was launched in 2008.
The Ruby Princess spends its time on both sides of the Atlantic and it offers a number of relaxing and romantic getaway options. During the summer, it can be found in the Mediterranean, stopping at ports of call like Barcelona, Florence, Monaco, Athens, Venice and Kusadasi.
In the winter, it is based in Fort Lauderdale and popular destinations include the Princess Cays, St Thomas, Nassau and St Maarten.

Food, cuisine and dining
When it comes to meal times, guests on the Ruby Princess will have a hard decision to make. After all, there are more than 15 restaurants to choose from, each of which offers delicious food, courteous service and an inviting atmosphere.
If you enjoy traditional cruise dining, then the Main Dining Room will be an excellent choice. It serves three meals a day and dinner is a formal occasion with two seating times and a number of mouth-watering courses.
For those who prefer more flexibility in their eating schedule, the Michelangelo and Da Vinci rooms offer Anytime Dining, allowing guests to eat when and where they choose.
There are also various specialty establishments, such as: • Sabatini's • Pizzeria • Burger and Hot Dog Grill • Crown Grill • Horizon Court • Cafe Caribe • Wine Bar • Evening Bistro • International Cafe • Vines • Ice Cream Bar • Wine Bar
Room service is available 24 hours a day and Ultimate Balcony Dining is a popular option for those who wish to enjoy a quiet meal in the comfort of their own veranda.
On-board entertainment and activities
While there are plenty of romantic activities for couples to indulge in during a cruise on the Ruby Princess, the ship is by no means only for couples. In fact, it offers a range of activities to suit voyagers of any age and preferences - from young children, through to retirees.
Shows are always popular diversions on cruises and there are three venues specifically for this purpose. The massive Princess Theatre is the largest and it features more than £1 million worth of audio and lighting equipment. Club Fusion and Explorers are two other options. Both play host to cabaret and musical acts.
There are a number of bars and lounges, where you can enjoy a cold drink and lively conversation, and many offer live music and dancing in the evenings.
Cruise favourites like karaoke and bingo are available and each voyage has a number of informative lectures booked. There's also a casino, a fabulous enrichment programme and a great kids' club programme.
Spas and fitness facilities
For some real relaxation, the Lotus Spa is a wonderful choice. It offers a peaceful atmosphere and there are plenty of treatment options to choose from, not to mention a thermal suite.
Meanwhile, the fitness centre is fully equipped with exercise machines and it includes a studio where aerobics, Pilates and other classes are held.
Other facilities on the ship include a number of swimming pools and a jogging track, as well as an adults-only retreat and several hot tubs.
Cabins
With more than 1,500 rooms on the Ruby Princess, there's an option to match any passenger's requirements, whether they are looking for cruise deals or the most sumptuous accommodation imaginable.
But no matter which option you choose, you'll enjoy comfortable quarters with plenty of space and a private bathroom. Plus, every stateroom benefits from a turn-down service and delicious chocolates on the pillows every night.
