You Won't be Disappointed with the Grand

We had travelled several times with Princess but this was our first time on Grand and having read a number of unfavourable reviews of the ship, were a little concerned that the Grand may not live up to our expectations of other ships in the Princess fleet. We need not have worried however as, although there were signs of wear and tear, she was in great shape and certainly nothing to worry about. We had a BB cabin on Caribe deck which was lovely although I will probably be a little more cautious in the future when selecting which side of the ship as, although we got the sun in the morning, it was often a little cool in the evening until we were in the southern Caribbean and we were unable to use the balcony as much as we had hoped.

The staff were excellent – we had traditional late seating and our wait staff could not be criticised in any way – nothing was too much trouble and the food was excellent. Staff in all areas of the ship were excellent and only added to our enjoyment of this lovely cruise. We only attended one show and it was very good – we’re not really into ventriloquists or karaoke, but did do a little ballroom dancing which was available on most days.

We enjoyed all of the ports of call and did go on two trips arranged by Princess which were fine but definitely over priced. On most of the islands we made our own arrangements locally, either on the internet prior to travel or when we docked and all proved to be really good value.

This was a wonderful cruise and we will definitely be travelling with Princess again in the near future.

That's true, we noticed that we didn't get a receipt but never queried it. The system seemed much more automated now and when you place an order they just take a note of your name from your cruise card and payment slip comes all ready printed and ready for signature. I must admit, it does make it a little more difficult to keep track of your account, but we asked for a print out from the Pursers Desk every couple of days so it wasn't too bad. Enjoy your cruise
