When things were going well, it was great, but when the norovirus struck they didn't want to know. I was fine, but my daughter was struck down on our last day as were hundreds of other passengers.

We were told to stay in our cabin, where my daughter would be assessed and they would arrange food, drink and medication. Despite numerous calls to the medical centre, no-one came near us and I had to call room service to get food and drink.

When it came time to disembark, they couldn't wait to get rid of us. Once everyone else had gone they transferred all those who had been ill direct to the airport where we were dumped for a 7 hour wait for our plane.

I wonder if our carrier was made aware that they had a number of passengers on board who had been suffering from the norovirus.

Several letters of complaint elicited the usual platitudes and the final paragraph "I do hope that despite your current feelings we may have the opportunity to welcome you back on board so that we may be able to fully restore your faith in the service we provide".

As if we would spend thousands of pounds to test this claim. No offer of compensation or discount on a future cruise. The proof of a consummate host is how you look after your guests when things go wrong.

thanks for being honest - not surprised about them not wanting to know, recent cruise on Diamond Princess 2 passengers were hurt on a day trip due to the way they were "handled" getting on and off a river boat and the staff at the day trip desk did not want to know and just said "its not my problem" couldn't get any worse or could it?
