As a first cruise, perhaps taking on the North Atlantic was never going to be a good idea. We sailed from Southampton to New York via Norway, Iceland, Greenland and Canada. Crown Princess were the company and the boat was acceptable. The highlight on board was the food. First class meals and wonderful service everyday became standard. The stateroom was comfortable and clean although a little hampered by two extra foldaway beds on the wall. Not all inside cabins are like this you need to check with the deck layout plan when you book. Our cabin was also quite near the front and this proved a disadvantage in rough weather which we had twice. Midships would be better. Shore excursions were expensive and most of the time you could arrange you're own thing on shore. Getting off the boat can be slow if you're not along side and they use tenders. The crew were fantastic and only to keen to help. The general standard of service was really high.
