Cruise Line: Princess Cruises Times cruised before: 6-10
Cruise Ship: Crown Princess Sailed: October, 2009
Destination: Canada Age: 56-65
Cabin: Inside
The ship is only 3 years old and is very similar to Grand Princess but it has an extra deck of cabins, which increases passenger levels by 500.

Despite over 3000 passengers the ship didn’t feel crowded, which was surprising considering the cold and wet weather during most of the cruise resulting in few passengers venturing on to the outside decks.

With only one day at sea, on the 'Classic Canada and New England' cruise, it gives an opportunity to visit many ports in Canada and USA. We particularly liked Ville Saguenay near the St. Lawrence where the locals made everyone very welcome. Also Halifax in Nova Scotia, Bar Harbour, Boston and Newport Rhode Island.

Meals in the ‘anytime dining’ restaurant were excellent with very efficient service from the waiters, the only downside being that they were different every night. We always took breakfast in the buffet restaurant where there always seemed to be lots of staff assisting passengers find tables and keeping everything spotless. Stateroom was very spacious and comfortable.

It was a wonderful cruise but I would recommend that September rather than October be chosen by anyone interested in this region as temperatures most days were below 15°C.

Excursions
Sydney – Fortress of Louisbourg
Replica, long bus journey, not interesting enough for time spent. Most people went back to bus early.

Bar Harbour – Arcadia Park – very enjoyable, despite fog at top of hill.

Entertainment – Good illusionist/comedian called Peter Gossamer.

We flew with BA via London to Montreal then on to Quebec the following day by train. We spent 2 nights at Courtyard Marriott beside the city walls and enjoyed walking round the old city, before boarding Crown Princess.

After disembarking in New York we spent a night in Crown Plaza, Times Square, before flying home.

A wonderful and positive review. We have been on several Princess Ships including The Crown an have been impressed with the variety and quality of food and the outstanding staff on board. Anytime time on Grand Princess was excellent and so too the Maitre' D and reception staff to The Michaelangelo Restaurant who delivered first rate customer service with our dining waiters. Back on Grand Princess within the next 2 months to the med for 14 days. Thank you Princess and not least Rigg for there constructive comments.
