Princess Cruises - Caribbean Princess

Caribbean Princess

As one of the largest vessels operated by Princess Cruises, the Caribbean Princess is a well-appointed ship that offers something for everyone who travels on it. And it caters for a wide range of guests - from young families and couples, through to groups of friends and older travellers who want to enjoy their retirement in style.

As the ship's name would imply, it offers cruises to locations in the Caribbean and voyages generally last between seven and 14 nights. Popular ports of call include San Juan, Antigua, Aruba and St Thomas. It also stops at the Princess Cays, a private resort owned by Princess and located on Eleuthera, an island in the Bahamas around 80 miles from Nassau.

On occasion, the vessel also travels along the eastern coast of America and Canada, with destinations including New York, Boston, Portland, Maine and Halifax.

Food, cuisine and dining

The Caribbean Princess offers a wide range of options when it comes to meal time and you're sure to find a venue that will satiate all culinary cravings. Anytime Dining is available for passengers who prefer to eat to their own schedule, while traditional services are also available.

Restaurants include:
• Coral Dining Room
• Island Dining Room
• Palm Dining Room
• Crown Grill
• Sabatini's
• Horizon Court
• International Cafe
• Cafe Caribe
• Scoops
• Prego Pizzeria
• Vines
• Trident Grill

Room service is provided 24 hours a day and for a special treat, why not opt for Ultimate Balcony Dining for one meal? Afternoon tea is also a popular event each day.

On-board entertainment and activities

If you'd like to test your luck, the Grand Casino is a fabulous venue, and one of the largest casinos at sea. It has more than 260 slot machines - including some that provide combined payouts - as well as a range of games tables.

During the ship's refurbishment in 2009, the large atrium was converted to a central piazza. This massive three-deck-high space provides a comfortable and relaxing place to sit back and enjoy a drink and have a conversation, and maybe even do some people watching. Live music and other entertainment are also hosted in this area.

The vessel was the first to offer Movies Under the Stars - an outdoor cinema located on the main pool deck, which shows Hollywood blockbusters and other entertainment in the fresh air. There are also three show lounges for music, dancing and cabaret acts.

Spas and fitness facilities

The spa and fitness facilities on the Caribbean Princess are pristine, expansive and include exercise machines, a thermal suite, treatment rooms and a studio space for invigorating classes.

Alternatively, there is a range of sports-based entertainment that's sure to get your heart racing. There are four swimming pools, two of them reserved for adults, which offer a great place to relax or burn a few calories.

If you like golf, there's a nine-hole putting course, as well as virtual golf. Other options include a jogging track, shuffleboard, a basketball court, ping-pong and Wii sports.

Cabins

The 1,557 rooms are split into six different types: interior cabins (perfect for those seeking cruise deals), outside-view cabins, balcony cabins, mini-suites, suites and the luxurious grand suites. These are further broken down into 35 price categories, so it's safe to say that there are plenty of accommodation options on the Caribbean Princess.

More than 1,000 rooms have outside views and the majority of these have balconies. In addition, there are 25 rooms that are wheelchair accessible and two family suites are available that can sleep up to ten passengers.
