1 - Week River Danube Cruise. This is a really excellent way of seeing much of the places where we stopped as we travelled the Danube. Starting of from Melke having first flown to Munich from Heathrow. A short air trip for those, like me, who do not like the prospect of air travel. The River boat was a catamaran and therefore twice the width of other boats and belonged to Peter Deilman line. It was a 5 star luxurious trip and we were lucky to have Alan Titchmarsh with us on the trip. The food was really gourmet and the staterooms large and very comfortable. With only about 180 passengers it was a very friendly occasion and I would recommend anyone to try this slightly different holiday. The Danube is not a very busy river compared to say the Rhine as it is not so commercial. The numerous locks were very different to the type we see on the Thames. They were HUGE.

The problem with late reviews is that they can become meaningless - in this case because Peter Deilmann river rcruises has gone out of business and is not sailing in 2010.
