After many years" sea cruising "we decided to try out a river cruise (Our last river cruise was down the Nile which is a somewhat different experience!) The Peter Dielmann cruise with Alan Tichmarsh offered by Cruise .co seemed a perfect choice. --What an experience!. The Cabins were half as large again as many so called "staterooms,"and with furnishings and service that many 4 star hotels would find hard to equal. The Bathroom allowed you to actually move around-a real plus . The food in the restuarant was first class with menus comprising many individual courses.Although the portions were not large, by the time we had been through the menu there was little room for further expansion. The afternoon tea and cakes added to the calorie count as did the" Bier und wurst" party. The Bulgarian wine waitress who served us most evenings was so attentive we probably exceeded our government target intake!.What can one say about Alan Titchmarsh ?. His hour seemed to go by so quickly we could have spent at least two hours listening to him.The daily included tours gave us a great insight into the ports and towns along the river with very knowledgeable and friendly guides helping us to appreciate the local history and culture. Would we take a rivercruise again? Yes .Would we cruise again with Peter Dielmann -Yes without question. One small glitch,we had to wait at Munich airport so long on arrival. we did not have time to visit Passau,- next time maybe.
