The Danube cruise was our 3rd river cruise, but the best by far.The arrangements by Claire Guthrie at Victoria Travel were excellent and enabled us to use our Air Miles. We would advise anyone going on this cruise to take the earliest flight possible, so that you can enjoy Passau before sailing time. The cabin was spacious and well equipped with ample wardrobes and drawers. There was always plenty of hot water in the splendid bathroom. The food was varied and interesting, with many delicious courses, but we were never overfaced by the well judged portions. The free seating meant we could chat with many other people. The included shore excursions gave a good initial view, enabling us to do our own thing later. The unexpected concert in Vienna was real bonus. Thanks to Andrew G.ardner for arranging this treat. The entertainments on board were all enjoyable, but the Bratislavan musicians were outstanding . Alan Titchmarsh was another bonus. The staff were all excellent helpful and informative. We particularly appreciated changing euros to local currency so easily at Budapest. Finally we suggest staying for a couple of nights in Munich afterwards.Lots to do and see before returning home.
