This is for anybody thinking of going on the P and O ship Ventura - dont hesitate is fabulous - the food - entertainment and the staff and crew are brilliant - my wife and I cruised January last year to the Caribbean - and this year April/May in the Med - both brilliant - our inside cabin was very comforable indeed - we have also been on the Arcadia 3 times in the last few years another great ship - so as before do not hesitate.

Hi, we as a family with 2 teenagers will be cruising round the Caribbean on the Venture in February 2011 and my questions are :on the smart casual evenings do men wear smart black trousers and shirts or is it more slacks and polo shirts?(I don't want my husband to over pack) and on the formal nights do teenagers (mine being boys)have to wear ties? This is our first cruise and we can't wait!Last question or I'll be on all day do you know anything about c deck as this is the deck that we are booked on?

Pete were most of the passengers British as the ship goes from Barbados of course and not Southampton. Did you find the flight to Barbados OK. We have booked premium as more leg room.

Thanks Pete I have booked on the Ventura for next January and your report was encouraging. We have a suite booked on c deck after we experienced a great cruise on the sister ship the Azura in July.
Question by Gardner, Poole (07 Sep 10 17:58) about this REVIEW
Hello Pete When you were on your Caribbean Cruise, can you or your wife recall whether or not the ladies wore dark colours during the evenings on formal (which is the usual) but also on the other evenings. We are going to the Caribbean with Azura , Ventura's sister ship, in November, and this being our first cruise, am panicking as to whether I am taking the correct style of clothing. I know that during the day, you are more or less free to wear what you like, within reason. Thank you Sue
Answer by JOHNSON , ROYTON OLDHAM (10 Sep 10 10:32) to a QUESTION by Gardner (07 Sep 10 17:58)
Hello Sue , Yes the ladies not only wore dark clothes but also light coloured clothes - as long as it looks smart there is no problem - I didn't mention in the review but for the 1st time we went freedom dining in April/May of this year whereas before we have always been on the 1st sitting - we now prefer the freedom dining - not so much of a rush if you have been out on one of the islands - anyway you enjoy your cruise I am sure you will. Regards Pete Johnson
