Our first cruise with P and O for six years. Also our first time to the Fjords. Beautiful evening for our departure from Southampton, a bit rough the second day crossing the North Sea but nothing too worrying. From then on the weather was amazing, beautiful clear blue skies in Bergen and Stavanger and light clouds in the Fjords giving way to some evening sunshine. The scenary didn't dissapoint, and I would recommend Norway as a destination for anyone who hasn't already been. What had changed in six years? We ate in the Waterside buffet every evening, an alternative to dining in the formal restaurant that wasn't available last time we cruised with P an O. Every evening was a different theme from Seafood to Mediteranean, not forgetting the amazing Indian buffet. I noticed that many people didn't bother to dress up on the two formal evenings - I did, but I don't think I will take any formal clothes next time. The entertainment had changed for the better. The big production shows were there - Saturday Night Fever, Chronicles(Cirque Du Soliel in the jungle), and Masquarade(Lloyd-Webber medley). Comedians were more contemporary than before including a couple of Comedy Store types and one Bradley Walsh type called Gary T Thompson, who was very funny. The highlights for me were the two tribute acts Annie lennox and Freddie Mercury- who were amazing. Finally the Kids Club was very good, and kept my 12 year old daughter entertained every evening and various other times of day when she wasn't in one of the swimming pools. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable week, which I would be happy to repeat at some stage in the future.
