We have just spent a month on Ventura so avoiding possibly the worst February for years. This meant that we probably had one of the best value escapes from the British winter there is.

This ship and this cruise have been reviewed literally hundreds of times, so I will not bore you with the details, only to say that on a ship of this size you can use what facilities the ship offers to create what you want from a holiday.
Tales of Benidorm afloat, fighting for food in the self service areas are true, but there is also fine dining a plenty and quiet corners where you can relax away from the madding crowd.

Other franchises under the Carnival banner, offer better, but guess what, it costs more.

We tend to choose are cruises by itinerary and time of year, so if P&O cruise when and where we are thinking of going, then we will continue to cruise with them. Azura looks wonderful with some improvements on Ventura, so it probably won't be long before we are off again!
Quality of Food2
The White Room, always fully booked, East and Ramblas were all excellent. The main dining rooms did not always reach the standard P&O used to achieve. Freestyle dining waiters were generally quite sullen.
Entertainment3
The stage shows were excellent, but are repeated across the fleet which could become tiresome if you travelled with P&O regularly.Peter Piper was excellent, along with the tribute acts, but the guest speakers and classical concerts were poor and poorly attended.

Staff1
Our room steward and room service waiter were excellent, but dining room staff just went through the motions and rarely smiled. The worst staff were the front desk who were rude and did not action requests.

We were on D Deck. Our cabin was extremely spacious.
