In April of 2009 my wife and i went on a last minute cruise on the Ventura sailing from Southampton our destination being the med. calling at Vigo,Lisbon,and then around the med including Rome then finishing at Gibraltar We travelled to Southampton by coach on one of Eavesway coaches which was very comfortable and quick on arrival at the dock in Southampton the embarkation went very well and in no time at all we was in our cabin which was a balcony cabin and it was very clean and spacious the balcony furniture was adequate the beds where comfortable and the bathroom was adequate if not a little small there was plenty of space for clothes and a safe the rest of the ship was superb as there was numerous bars and eateries to choose from and the entertainment was second to none with the theatre as good as any in any city on land the productions where excellent and professionally put together the cruise directer was very good and he was a bit of a ameteur astronomer and gave several lectures about astronomy during the cruisethe food was also very good we opted for freedom dining and this suited us very well the quality of the food was very good and the selection was excellent and the staff certainly looked after us and they where attentative and where always at hand clearing and cleaning the tables the ports of call where a good selection and the choice of excursions where plentiful even though a little dear on the whole a great cruise and great value for money thouroughly recommended
