We have just returned from a fantastic Mediterranean cruise on the Ventura. We took our grown-up daughter and son with us as a treat for them as they have not been on a cruise before. We had a wonderful time, the ship is fantastic, the food is great and the excursions wonderful. Unfortunately the entertainment was not as good as that provided on the Oceana last year and the new terminal at Southampton is still having problems in embarkation and disembarkation. It took us 90 minutes to embark from entering the terminal and on return there was a rush for the exit and baggage as everyone appeared to want to get off at the same time. arriving late back at Southampton due to fog in the channel didn't help. None-the-less we are looking to go again, possibly next year, and we have converted our children that this is the way to holday.

Was I on the same boat?? This man has must have spent most of the trip asleep! What a shed I thought I was on a Blackpool trip or a Haven holiday. It would seem that now the prices are cheeper people on benefits or signing on can afford the holidays afloat and bring the whole level down to them with their noisy brats and teenage hooligans running amok. More to follow!

It is good news that you did not like your cruise aboard the Ventura(if you have actually been on her) as I would guess you will not bother again and people would not have to put up with your pompous snobery and your delusions of grandeur ! You sound like Harry Enfield's "Old Gits" but sadly not as funny !

I'm with you Brooker. Double the prices and keep the riff-raff of the cruise ships!!!! Also - add 25% service charge to all drinks!!! Enforce dress codes - send anyone not adhering back to their cabin!!! Let's get back to decent standards. .... Grumps

Now that would be the cruise from hell - sharing a table with Brooker & Grumpy. A quick flash of my Guardian should send them running!

Wow! A football shirt wearer with tatoos able to read the big words in the Gaurdian. Now that's a first.
