We took the P & O cruise to Iceland and the Fijords in June last year. This was the first time cruising with them but will not be the last. having sailed previously with both Princess and Celebrity we were very presently surprised at how much less expensive drinks and tips were on the Ventura. A good bottle of wine on the P & O ships is about £12, the same on the others ships were closer to £30. we called into Dublin as our first port of call and really enjoyed the Irish hospitality. our next port was Rejivik in Iceland where the Blue Lagoon is well worth a visit. We caught the local bus to the site, which is about a half hour ride and much cheap[er doing it youself. we sailed around the top half of Iceland and entered the Arctic circle. We could not believe how flat the sea was there it was like a mill pond. The midnight sun was wierd at 2 in the morning it was still broad daylight. We then sailed down Norway vising some of the Fijords. These were so beatiful an d serene. Our last port of call in Norway was Oslo a really stunning city. Although only a few weeks after we visited they had that madman with a gun who shot so many students, which was scarry. The large park behid the city was one of the highlights of our visit with its many stunning statues. Norways cost of living is very high so anything such as coffee or a glass of wine is expensive. £10 for a small wine. We then cruised to Belgium then back to Sothampton. We have booked again with P & O for a 5 weeker to the Panama canal etc as we enjoyed it so much.
