Traveling that distance you’re bound to get so many sea days.Found luggage reclaim very easy has each decks luggage is in a separate row.

It may be that the more formal Cunard would be more to your liking. QM2 would also give your wife much greater stability. P&O are tightening their dress code I believe.

We were on the Oceana in November and the bar waiter adhered to the dress code, asking people who were not dressed as per the evening code to leave. Well done. Absolutely sick of cruising with people who don't adhere to expected dress codes. If you don't like the rules book with someone else!!!

Think it's about time the cruise really enforced dress code - we were on a World Cruise on Queen Victoria and on a formal night we complained about a guy in a theatre box with t shirt shorts and bear feet - only to be told he had a penthouse and paid extra for the box with champagne - "say no more - money still talks!!".

Disgraceful, whoever said that should be sacked.

Each to their own. We were on that cruise too and thoroughly enjoyed it. Didn't find weather rough at all and loved La Palma.

We love La Palma too although not much in town but the beach right opposite the ship is lovely if weather warm .

Don't think you can blame the Cruise line for rough weather. We were on Ventura last year and could not fault it. Probably just unlucky with the type of people that were on board.

How interesting, we were on the three day mini cruise directly before your cruise and we’re pleased to see the dress code, especially on Formal night was well observed and the behaviour on board largely excellent! I suppose it shows that in the end it’s just down to the individuals on board. Also, pleased to hear that embarkation was excellent as due to storms overnight we didn’t dock until 930 and people were still leaving the ship at 11.00. So impressive turnaround by all concerned. We had booked in order to give P&O another try having fallen out of love with it some ten years ago and have to say we were quite impressed! The least observed formal night we’ve had was a Celebrity to the Baltic ( unless you count the MSC carribean Xmas which we probably don’t.....).

We were on the previous Ventura cruise (Iberia) and it was the worst we've ever done in over 20 years. Apart from the dress code - baseball hats at dinner - the food was poor and little choice. Hardly any entertainment other than the usual quizzes, bingo and dancing lessons. Incredibly noisy ship - not a quiet corner anywhere and P&O have now made an art form out of ripping people off once they get them on board! Never again. Carnival's accountants at work perhaps?
