|Cabin: Balcony||Occasion: Annual/regular holiday|
Cruised on Oceana to canaries.I thought the ship was supposed to have had a refit.We had a balcony cabin,no sign of new fittings etc.Around the ship was the same.P & O standards have slipped drastically .We love sailing from Southampton as it makes life easier.Might have to try Celebrity next time or Cunard which is a shame.Our steward was a lovely pleasant young man as were the waiters.On. a positive note we did enjoy our trip.I hope P&O staff in charge read these reviews.Otherwise no improvements will be made,competition now is much greater.
The food was not bad.Enjoyed drinks in Magnums only went to two shows.Smoking on balcony needs to be stopped.
There was always plenty to do on board and the port talks were interesting and informative.
Breakfast was a bit of a bun fight unless you went very early,we opted for waiter service occasionally which was less stressful.
Fortunately there were hardly any children on board to spoil the peace and quiet.
Embarkation went like clockwork as did disembarkation .
We enjoyed ports of call,Madeira being our favourite.We tend to do our own thing rather than go on organised tours.Lisbon was very interesting and a change to be in a city as apposed to a holiday island.
We had second sitting which gave us more time to get our glad rags on and have a couple of glasses of champagne .We had a table for six and met some interesting people.
Sailing was fairly calm a little bumpy round the Bay of Biscay.last time was on the Canberra twenty years ago when cruising was a little more formal.Pleased P&O still have a dress code, but sadly Oceana only has two.
Will be interested to sail on P&O's new ship,depending on size,
I used the spa for a pedicure ,the young lady was lovely and came from my home town
