After a snowy journey we were welcomed on board and laid out for everyone was an excellent lunch,we had an inside cabin which was spacious and comfortable ,a shortage of hangers was soon addressed by a very helpful stewardess.During the next few days as we settled into the routine we had a very good impression of the ship the staff and the food there was lots of interesting activities ,in which we could take part if we so desired ,as a Christmas cruise I have to say we were disappointed we felt that not enough was done to create the right atmosphere I had expected lots of fun gettogethers Parties on the deck ,Christmas themed activities ,but these were very thin on the ground ,the passengers provided most of the atmosphere with a choir and pantomime provided by them with help from a charming young P and O member of staff ,except for the special Christmas and New Year meals the food began to deteriorate as the cruise progressed much to my surprise .The excursions were excellent and good value for money compared to other cruises I have been on, We did feel that too much emphasis was put on selling goods and services on board and would warn future customers to be aware of this especially when you first board as you are targeted straight away. On the whole we had a very enjoyable cruise and the staff tried very hard to give everyone a good time ,cleanliness on board left a little to be desired in some areas such as the loo\'s later in the cruise ,but cabins and dining rooms were immaculate.One more thing to mention is that although we had some rough weather on the way out the ship sailed like a dream with no problems felt by the majority of the passengers and the entertainers who were very good carried on regardless ,for the price we paid I feel we had good value for money and would sail with P and O again but not at Christmas

We were on the same cruise and xmas and new year celebrations just never happened . They are only interested in making money.They told me so in writing when I complained about my Mini suite costing me £4000-00 more than the same neighbouring suite. They did not want to know !!. This was the worst cruise we have ever been on and even regular p & o travellers were saying that standards had dropped. Never P & O again for us. Frank & Diana Jury Kidderminster
