Our last cruise was on Arcadia on the Sydney to Singapore section of the world cruise. As always P&O push the boat out when comes to world cruising. Having been a cruiser on board Arcadia 8 times, she becomes part and parcel of our holiday and we more or less see the same faces on each cruise. Our cruise this time took us first to Brisbane, however as the ship docked miles away from the city, it was a case of either a shuttle bus or a taxi, we were lucky as I am a member of the IPA (International Police Association) so we had someone meet us and more or less take us a guided tour of Brisbane and the country around. Our next top was Airlie Beach, which was very disappointing and unless you booked a tour, then I the best thing to do is stay on board. Next Stop Cairns, well again met by a IPA rep and taken on whilst stop tour of the region and boy was it great. Went up the coast about 100 miles to see some of the best beaches around followed by a trip on the train and then the shops for what my wife describes as the best and that is the opals. Do I need to say anymore other then a bill when I got back for £3000. We then went onto Hong Kong which was a 5 day cruise, which I think P&O could have cut down by calling say at Manila, 5 days is too long. 2 days in HK was great and we loved it, but a pity we had to be boated in as it is a long way to get to shore (about 40 mins), suggest that P&O makes sure that we are docked at the Int terminal in future. Our next call was Hanoi and boy this made up for all the other places, although it is a long drive into Hanoi form the dock, its an experience to die for. The rest of the cruise was to places I have been to before.

Times cruised before: 10+
Sailed: March, 2012
Age: 56-65
Cabin: Balcony
Occasion: Wedding anniversary

Quality of Food
Excellent food as always with lovely staff and layout.

Most enjoyable, although it could do with a little more choice

Shore Excursions
Only took one excursion and that was to Hanoi, and it was fabulous, recommend the tour to anyone that is interested in the history of the Vietnam War

Children's Facilities
None thank god

Onboard Activities
Yes, however as a sun worshiper, didn`t get a chance to experience anything

Again nothing to complain about, although it would be nice to see fresh fruit and water every day and it would cost that much extra. Fridge could do with being colder.

I just wonder why if this cruise was so good how come it has taken you 16 months to post it up? This review is of no use as the Arcadia World Cruise 2013 was a disgrace. If the writer would care to read World Cruise 2013 reviews on this forum and other forums you will see a huge difference in experiences from one year to the next. So anyone looking for a more up to date review of Arcadia World Cruise should forgo this one as it is posted well over a year late.

I'm a bit confused. I have just read other World Cruise 2013 reviews and they don't indicate problems? (certainly nothing identifiable as a disgrace). To what are you referring? Am I missing something? We're booked on the Melbourne to Southampton leg of the 2014 cruise. This will be our 3rd and longest cruise. We've loved cruising so far, so I'm hoping a 46 day cruise doesn't turn out to be a disappointment.
