P&O Adonia

P&O Cruises presents its newest ship, the Adonia, replacing the Artemis, which has served the cruise line for many years. The Adonia is a streamlined and sleek space for a mere 710 passengers, providing a friendlier atmosphere than some of the larger cruise ships. The smaller size of the Adonia, at a mere 180m in length, also greatly increases the number of possible destinations so guests can expect the opportunity to dock at less commercial and more intimate ports along their journey.

Cruises vary in length from a quick 7-day getaway to the Fjords of Norway to lengthier trips throughout Europe. Summer 2011 will see the Adonia sail from Southampton along the Mediterranean making visits at Huelva and Portofino as well as the more popular destinations of Rome and Barcelona, while the winter months will see the intriguing destinations of Zadar (Croatia), Vols (Greece) and Izmar (Turkey).

Food, Cuisine & Dining

The main restaurant, The Pacific Dining Room, offers six course silver service, while the ship’s specialty restaurants include the Italian Sorento and the Ocean Grill. The self-serve Panorama Buffet offers an alternative to the more formal fine dining.

Onboard entertainment & activities

The Adonia has eight decks including P&O Cruises’ signature Crow’s Nest for taking in the stunning views of the Mediterranean through the floor-to-ceiling windows while relaxing with a drink from the long bar. The Anderson, named for the founder of P&O Cruises, is the traditional lounge and is decorated in the dark wooden style of the early twentieth century complete with traditional fireplace, while other public suites include dance floors and stages for after-dinner entertainment. The reception hall on the Adonia is modeled as a copy of the Titanic’s Grand Staircase in fitting with elegant and classical decor.

The library, decorated in beautiful classical English-style, offers over 4,000 titles for your pleasure and card rooms and shuffleboard courts also provide alternative forms of amusement. As Britain’s leading cruise line P&O Cruises are skilled in providing entertainment at all levels. Expert after-dinner speakers and the theatrical and live musical performances are sure to delight, while theme nights and activities such as quizzes and panel games ensure the social and friendly atmosphere of the Adonia is rife.

The Adonia provides an excellent cruise program for adults, with the high-end service and experience you have come to expect from P&O Cruises, and added variety in the choice of destination.

Spa & Fitness facilities

The onboard spa offers the perfect opportunity to unwind and relax while indulging in a beauty treatment, while the swimming pool and ample space for sunbathing can be found on the lido desk and a separate thalasso-therapy pool is also on board. For the more active a jogging track, a golf cage, and a gym offer the chance to keep up fitness levels while on board.

Cabins

The Adonia offers the option of both indoor and outdoor rooms catering for a wide range of budgets and tastes. Outdoor-facing rooms encompass a private balcony for your comfort and pleasure. All rooms have good storage facilities and tea and coffee making facilities are standard. While the Adonia is smaller in size than many of the grander superliners, it still maintains the high standard of service and elegant charm expected from P&O Cruises.
