Oceania Cruises - Regatta
MS Regatta
Along with its identical sister ships, the Insignia and Nautica, the Regatta has been designed to provide the feel of a luxury cruise, but without the extremely high prices.
It's clear to anyone who sails on the Regatta that the friendly staff members are extremely well trained and that every effort has been made to ensure that guests have a wonderful voyage. Even the smallest details have been considered carefully and there are plenty of facilities to keep even the most demanding passengers happy.
The second R class cruise ship built for Renaissance Cruises, the Regatta was launched in 1998 and it was originally called the MS R Two. In 2002, it was acquired by Oceania Cruises.
Today, the Regatta is Oceania's flagship and it is normally based in the US and Canada. It offers a wide range of itineraries to choose from, including San Francisco to Alaska, San Francisco to New York via the Panama Canal, Miami to the Caribbean and Los Angeles to Tahiti.

Food, cuisine and dining
The Regatta offers four unique restaurants that are sure to delight your taste buds. All feature open seating, giving you complete flexibility on when and where you dine. Plus, with a number of tables for two, you have more choice when it comes to who you eat with as well.
Known as the Grand Dining Room, the Regatta's main restaurant has seating for around 340 guests and a stunning decor.
If you prefer a more intimate dining experience, the alternative restaurants require reservations, but you won't need to pay any additional fees to enjoy one of their delicious meals.
The Polo Grill is an elegant steak house that exudes a classic atmosphere, making it the perfect choice for a quiet and romantic meal. Menu items include specialties like Oysters Rockefeller or escargot for starters, with filet mignon, veal chops, porterhouse steaks and racks of lamb for mains. There's also a selection of delectable desserts like key lime pie and New York cheesecake, as well as the intriguing chocolate mousse burger.
For those who prefer Italian, Toscana offers simple, mouth-watering Tuscan fare in friendly and stylish surroundings. Options include various pastas and risottos, as well as meat and chicken dishes. And be sure to save room for a dessert: chocolate ravioli, tiramisu and creme brulee are just some of the tasty treats available.
Meanwhile, the Terrace Cafe is an all-you-can eat buffet that serves breakfast and lunch. If the weather's good, you can even enjoy an al fresco meal by the pool deck.
If you're looking for a bit of a morning pick-me-up, you could head to the Horizon Lounge for a delicious pastry and your favourite hot drink. And for a light lunch, Waves Grill is another option, which provides items like salads, sandwiches and burgers.
Additionally, complimentary room service is available, offering light snacks and breakfast items.
On-board entertainment and activities
The Regatta offers a wide range of activities throughout its voyages. The various bars and lounges regularly play host to live music performances - from classical quartets, to jazz bands, pianists and acoustic guitars.
Enrichment programmes cover a variety of topics from food and drink to arts and crafts, as well as history and technology. You may also take part in many of the standard cruise favourites like karaoke, quizzes and dance lessons, while the casino is available for those wishing to test their luck and their skills.
While the Regatta is not designated as an adults-only cruise ship, there are no facilities specifically for children. Children are welcome on all itineraries, but families who are planning a voyage with children should keep this in mind when booking a trip - and be sure to bring some activities to keep your little ones busy.
Spas and fitness facilities
If you're looking for the ultimate in relaxation, then head down to the lovely spa and fitness facility. Although it's small, it offers everything you need to get your tensions to disappear, including exercise machines and fitness classes, as well as treatment rooms providing massages and body wraps.
Alternatively, why not treat yourself to some time at the salon? With options like hair styling and colouring, facials, manicures and pedicures - all provided by highly trained specialists - you're sure to leave the cruise with a fresh appearance, and maybe even looking a bit younger than when you started!
Cabins
There are a number of room types available on the Regatta, ranging from luxurious suites and rooms with large balconies and ocean views, to more simple, but still very comfortable, staterooms.
If you're looking for cruise deals, the lowest-priced accommodation can be found in the interior cabins. While these rooms are fairly small - around 160 square feet - and don't offer any views, they are still extremely comfortable and provide plenty of the comfortable amenities that you'd find in a high-end hotel.
All rooms come with an en-suite bathroom, a television and some sort of seating area. You'll also enjoy maid service twice a day and complimentary room service.
