First time with Oceania Cruises, although have been on a couple of the sister ships operated by other companies. Lovely, well built medium sized ship with craftsman built furniture in all the public rooms. Had an outside cabin (big picture window)4 deck forward, although due to the relatively small size of the ship I would go for a cabin further aft next time (motion in rough weather & bowthruster noise). Oceania have really lifted the ship with installation of teak clad decks (although there appeared to be some quality problems with some splitting timber) which are truly better than the bolidt compound which the ships originally had, and the provision of good quality teak sunloungers with towelling covered matresses. Catering wise, the two premium restaurants on deck 10 are beyond belief; a meal of equivalent quality in the UK would cost a significant sum and you would be hard pushed to match the quality anywhere. The main restaurant with open sitting is not quite as good as the premium restaurants, but is well above average. We found the buffet (deck 10) good, but nowhere near the variety or quality of Azamara, which was the only disappointment. Proper coffee is available in a multitude of places and is free.
Cabins not large although adequate. However no fruit or flowers unlike Azamara and the quality of the bedlinen & cushions of reasonable standard, but again nowhere near the Azamara product. Cabin bathrooms very small but well equipped, rest rooms in public areas very well fitted and spotlessly clean.
Entertainment was limited (ship too small for big shows) but adequate for us, concentrating on an excellent Japanese classical pianist and a superb Polish string quartet.
Generally a high quality product (mainly American passengers of Jewish background on our cruise), with a quality, relaxed, tranquil onboard atmosphere.
Quality of Food5
Generally excellent. 2 premium restaurants (no cover charge) beyond belief. main restaurant very good. Buffet very good, but somewhat lacking in variety and choice at times.
Entertainment5
Classical musicians either in formal shows or playing in public areas around the ship.
Shore Excursionsn/a
Staff5
Generally extremely helpful, well motivated and friendly. Nothing was too much trouble for them. Mainly Filipino catering staff and Polish housekeeping
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Can't recall any children being onboard, but if there were any the kids/teen facilities are nonexistant compared with the bigger cruise lines.
Onboard Activities3
Enrichment lectures not of a high standard, but plenty of varied, organised events going on as organised by cruise director and her team.
Cabins4
been before, so aware of size, but are quite compact (but adequate) when compared to some other ships. facilities very adequate with bathrobes provided.
Overall Rating5
