We arrived in Venice after a rather arduous flight - our flight from Manchester to Frankfurt was cancelled so we had to re-route via Munich which was a bit stressful. We arrived at the ship just before midnight - good job she didn't sail until the next day!
Nautica is a beautifully elegant ship - the crew were amazing and we found the service to be top class. Every need was anticipated..and delivered with a smile.
90% of passengers were from USA with the rest being a mix of Canadian, Australian, etc and we two Britons!
It was a port - intensive cruise with 14 ports in a 12 night itinerary...and only one day at sea. Our weather was mixed and the call at Sarande (Albania) was called off as it was too rough to tender. We stayed at Corfu for a full day rather than the half day planned - but it was so wet and windy I think everyone was probably back on board by noon anyway!
Most nights we seemed to have a thunder and lightening show during dinner - but the seas didn't seem rough -or else Nautica rode it well.

Food was excellent - aimed more at an American palate perhaps. We tried the Polo Grill one night and the steaks were fab.
Entertainment was not razamatazz like bigger ships - but perfectly professional. The ship has an 8 piece orchestra, a string quartet and a lounge pianist. Guest entertainers included a comedian (poor), pianist (good) and a Spanish guitarist (good). Additionally 3 members of the ship's entertainment team each did their own cabaret shows and they were excellent.

I found that by 11.30 the ship was very quiet...I guess because the cruise was so port intensive most people headed for bed early. I'd end my evening with a peppermint tea in the 24-hour drinks station in the buffet restaurant. I miss having tea making facilities in cabin!

Our cabin was perfectly adequate for 2 people. Good storage. Bathroom compact but clean. TV and DVD in cabin. We had an obstructed view - and it was fairly obstructed by the life-boat except when they used that boat as a tender!

All in all, an excellent experience on a wonderful ship. Food and service like I have not had before. Loved it!
Quality of Food5
the Grand Dining room for evening meals. Most lunch and breakfasts taken in Terrace Cafe where the service was attentive and food varied.
Entertainment3
Comedian was worst - we thought it was because he was American and we didn't understand his humour - but the Americans didn't like him much either!!
Shore Excursions5
Ephesus was amazing!
Staff5
Lalan in Grand Dining Room - always looked out for us and helped whenever he could.....even in Corfu he helped us get back to the ship when he saw us struggling in the wind - and he was off duty then
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activities2
Very port intensive cruise so not too much offered.....but not really needed.
