Our trip on the Marina was without doubt one of the best cruise experiences we have had. Everything was of an extremely high standard as befits a 6* ship. The crew were attentive but discreet, unfailingly polite and knowledgeable about the ships facilities. Food was excellent and the choice of specialty restaurants, Italian, French, Thai and Grill as well as main dining room and buffet provided something for everyone. Our particular favourite was the Polo Grill and although we were only entitled to one visit, the maitre 'd was very obliging and we had two excellent dinners there. The cabin was slightly smaller than other balcony mini suites we have enjoyed but this was because the bathroom has been configured to include a full size bath and separate shower - very luxurious. The only area we felt was not up to the excellent standards was the entertainment. The Cruise Director Nolan was fantastic, but the quality of shows, sets and costumes was not high, although the entertainers did their best. There was limited musical entertainment on board but this is not a cruise you would go on for the onboard entertainment. The 11 day trip was very port intensive and we enjoyed very long days in port - it was great not to have to be back on ship at 4pm so we were able to take full advantage of our destinations. Monemvasia was an unexpected treat and we will definitely return. Generally there were only 2 or 3 other ships in port so strolling around the towns was relaxing and uncrowded. We will definitely be cruising with Oceania again.

Hello there We are thinking of sailing on the new Riviera in mid-August 2012 around Italy. I was wondering whether you could help with the average age bracket of the guests on your trip? I'll be celebrating my 40th but looking for something relatively quiet, but not a ship that closes up at 10pm. What was your experience please? Many thanks! Georgie
