This was our first cross over cruise & we were a little apprehensive about 5 whole days at sea before we actually reached the Carbibean. We need not have worried! Having boarded at Palma, we had a super day in Gibralter, then Madeira ,which is always lovely, then our transatlantic voyage began.
The time was filled in more ways than we could ever have imagined.Glorious days spent in ever increasingly warm sunshine, lazing on deck, or in the hot tubs. One day in particular sticks in our minds, the day of the village fete!! Crew members from most departments all organised a stall at the fete , each one different & all vaguely echoing the traditional village fete style.Pasengers were issued with score cards & could have a go at each of the activities on offer, these were then scored by the crew & at the end of the fete prizes awarded for the highest scorers. It was really good fun & we were so impressed at how hard everyone worked to make sure we all enjoyed the day. Even the captain joined in fantastic. & was pelted
with wet sponges from the comfort of the village stocks!!Another abiding memory is the chocolate buffet, a huge displayof all things chocolate , displayed on golden platters & formed in towering glistening mountains & rivers of chocolate, absolutely fantastic.A visit to the bridge was also of real interest, not something that happens every day.
The staff & crew as ever are brilliant.Always helpful, attentive , hardworking & pleasant, they also made the crossing pleasant.
What can I then add about all the different ports of call we made in the Caribbean.Fabulous Barbados, or lush green Dominica or perhaps my favourite Mayreau. On our visit there, the crew began before first light to ferry to shore all the equipment needed for a giant barbeque for the entire ship.Sunloungers, chairs etc were also provided. The food was great, they even set up a full scale beach bar.Unbelievable.

This review gives just a glimpse into a really memorable & enjoyable 22 nights aboard. If you still have not tried Ocean Village, give it a go before she sails off down under. We shall miss our trips on her,Hope we can find a replacement
which will measure up!
