This was our first time with Ocean Village and only booked for the ports of call, St Vincent, Isla Margarita, Dominica and St Kitts as we had done all the others (some 2/3 times) on other cruises. Pleasently surprised by the size of cabin and nice to have tea/coffee/biscuits in cabin. Deck was quiet (11) Deck A and only few children on board thank goodness! Entertainment was quite good, Double Impact (Chapman Brothers) Mick Hucknell & Annie Lennox tributes and comedians were ok. Connextions bar was far to small for a lot of the entertainment taking place in there having to get there at least 30mins before to get a seat due to the usual problem of people saving several seats for others or just not wanting to share a sofa (2 instead of 4).
Food was good but I did'nt enjoy hunting for a table & walking around the service counters trying not to bump into others walking in all directions with trays esp in the evenings. Eat in La Luna and James Martin's Bistro several times (extra cover charge ) both were excellent.
Did a few of the trips, St Kitts railway was def worth the money, we also did Jeep Safari in Isla Margarita and Best of Dominica. The latter was a bit of a dissapointment due to overcrowding as 3 other cruise ships in port and all doing the same sightseeing tours.
The only negative point I would say is that I felt it lacked the traditional Cruise Director and Assistant to front up the entertainments team and would put Ocean Village well behind Tomson Cruises on that front, they are the best.
