My friend and I sailed on NCL Norwegian Jewel from New York to the Bahamas. We had flown from Britain for this Christmas cruise and then were spending New Year in New York. The ship seemed to be all Americans, we found only 2 other people from the UK. We had a fantastic time! Americans are so friendly and as soon as they heard our accents they wanted to talk to us. It was a very friendly ship as the staff were so keen to make it a happy time. Our cabin was very spacious and the restaurants were first class. The entertainment was outstanding. We did 2 sightseeing trips. The first one was in Florida on an air boat and the second, in the Bahamas was swimming with dolphins. Although expensive they will always be a wonderful memory and we were glad we did them. I also loved their private island where the staff did their utmost to give us a wonderful buffet. We were sorry to leave the ship and will definitely cruise with NCL again.
Quality of Food5
Preferred to dine in the restaurants away from the noisy buffet style cafe.
Entertainment5
There were some fantastic trapeze artists but also enjoyed the ships own entertainment team.
Shore Excursions4
We thought Atlantis in Bahamas was just too big for a day trip but we loved swimming with the dolphins.
Staff5
Our cabin boy, Sam was a lovely helpful smiling boy. All the staff appeared to be happy in their jobs and seemed to want to please us.
Children's Facilitiesn/a
Onboard Activities4
...we were never bored!
Cabins4
Better than some cabins I have had with previous cruise lines. It was better than Cunards Queen Mary and as good as P&O
