Due to a cancelled holiday we booked last minute to go on the Norwegian Jade. We normally cruise with P&O or Princess so were a little apprehensive when this was all there was available. I must say our apprehnsions soon disappeared when we arrived in Southampton. From the very start of our cruise we were treated extremely well and always very courteously. The embarkation arrangements were excellent. No member of the crew would have walked past us without bidding the time of day. Our butler and cabin steward were excellent and nothing was too much trouble for either of them. I was unsure of the freedom dining concept as I would prefer a set sitting, however, on this occasion I found the freedom to choose when and where we wanted to dine ideal as it was non-restrictive. I did notice that the atrium area was always "alive" with people which added that extra buzz around the ship. The variety of items for sale in the shop was amazing, not to mention the wonderful stock in the full sized Columbian Emeralds Jewellers on board. Although this was our first time cruising with NCL it will definitely not be the last.
Quality of Food
As well as the main restaurants we also dined in the Blue Lagoon. We went to the Italian Restaurant, where a surcharge was required, and enjoyed a delightful evening.
Entertainment
The entertainment was nothing out of the ordinary.
Shore Excursions
We went on a cycling tour of the "Italian Countryside" which was enjoyable. However, there were quite a few hills.
Staff
Our Cabin Steward was very helpful and always had a cheery smile, even after working well in excess of his requied hours.

Onboard Activities	n/a
Although there was an extensive range of onboard activities we did not participate in many of them.
Cabins
Our suite was very spacious and well equipped with plenty of storage space.

As we also mornally cruise with Princess or P&O we saw an itinary on the N Jade which appealed to us. However after reading your review we have decided against this Thank you for such a frank and honest review
