Just back from Med cruise with NCL Not the best holiday we've ever had. No one can change the weather but the service onboard the Norwegian Jade left a lot to be desired. It was as if they couldn't be bothered. Certainly they did nothing to earn the optional service charge. This is our second cruise with NCL and also our last. Would rather go with Princess or Carnival which have much higher standards. The room was not ready - no towels glasses or robes and our baggage was delayed. The cabin steward was never very enthusiastic about cleaning. The restaurant service was mediocre at best - slow, all courses served at once or one missed out! The buffet was not self service because of a virus onboard but it would have been nice to have the food placed tidily on the plate rather than thrown or slopped. We did speak to staff onboard and have also sent a letter to the company as despite making a big deal out of hygiene issues their efforts were inconsistant and the ship looked dirty. On the bright side their shore excursions were good - when they were able to run.

this seems to be a very different ship to the Jade which my husband and I sailed with this month. We found it to be exactly the opposite!! Staff - marvellous. Couldn't be more friendly or helpful. Food - excellent. More choice than anyone could wish for. Service - excellent. Cleanliness - never known anywhere to be more clean! We thought our cabin girl lived under the bed because every time our backs were turned our cabin was cleaned and new towels put down. Entertainment - excellent. Only one half night of line dancing!! More's the pity as I am an avid line dance fan. Will definitely be using the Jade again and recommending it to our friends.

Glad things have improved on the Jade. That was our second cruise with NCL so we were very disappointed. We did not exaggerate our experience and have written to the company who are looking into our comments. Maybe that has helped.
