Unless you can speak italian dont even think about booking a cruise on the Sinfonia. Very little info was given in english. The teen club was almost non exsistant. The activity leaders could not speak english. So forget about doing a quiz. The food was ok but very sameish and you had no choice but to eat in the main dining rooms in the evening as nothing else was availble between 5pm and 12.30am. So if you were first sitting like us and went ashore you had to return sometimes 2hours before all aboard or not eat that evening. Most evenings the 12.30am food was just the bell boys walking around with trays of a diffent item each night like cold pizza or cookies. The afternoon tea was just 1 hour and only had fruit tea and the same cake (very dry and bland)and sandwiches filled with grilled corgette. On 1 day we were lucky they had tuna and ham and cheese but no where near enough for the amount on people onboard.
They also wanted money for everything. Water, Coffee, ice cream ect.
No english TV except BBC World News.
Although the ship was really nice.(shame it does not belong to another cruiseline) I would never cruise again with msc.
Quality of Food2
Only the formal dinning avalible in the evenings
Entertainment4
The quality of the shows and customes excellent shame about the cruise director.
Shore Excursions2
Very expensive could do it much cheaper alone.
Staff1
Children's Facilities1
nothing arranged for the teenagers. Thank goodness for the sports court
Onboard Activities2
Nothing to do as everything is done in italian/spainish. Rock climbing wall out of order. The children did enjoy the crazy golf.

Opinion: Disagree Comment by Barnet, monaco (07 Aug 08 09:23) about this REVIEW
I do sometimes wonder why my fellow Brits bother going on a european cruise line when they quite evidently prefer a cruise with a British culture. I did this cruise in September 07 and found it excellent and think that most of the complaints made on this site are unjustified. However that could be because, although I am British I also speak french and italian and have lived between France and Italy for the last 10 years. On the other hand I found that all staff spoke very good english and it was actually my non-english speaking boyfriend who felt left out when speaking with some staff!! I would definately recommend this cruise line and ship to anyone willing to embrace other cultures - hardcore Brits should stick to P&O!!
Opinion: Agree Comment by Smethurst, Deal (15 Sep 07 21:45) about this REVIEW
I do agree with the above comment we were a party of four English and made to feel very foreign and outcasts. My wife sings Karaoke and this was cancelled as the Italians evidently don't like it! As was the golf competition without an explanation. If you don't speak Italian forget it
