Having just cruised on MSC for the third time. However we were unfortunatly some what dissapointed on this trip. The Poesia ship has a whow factor every where. The theatre is exceptionally brilliant & all shows were realy professional. The cabins & all public areas were realy nice. I like the personal touch when you first come on board, escorted to your cabin. A realy nice welcome.
This ship appeared to us to be a staff training ship. The first meal taken on board in the restraunt was completely out of sequence. It got worse every break fast was served compltely in reverse to the norm. They were a smashing crew, every one tried very hard. They just required to be trained properly. Our main critisim is the fact that payment has to be made for ever drink including water. Only breakfast was anything free. In fact the self -service restraunt was closed for part of the day. We have never on any cruise that we have been able to wonder in at any time througout the day & have a cup or tea / water & a biscuit or something. Cruising is all about 24 hour food we thought!!
The ports of call were all brilliant & enjoyed everyone, may be a little longer some days. Still it lived up to our excpectations.
The final gripe was unfortunatly we were woken up every morning at 5.20am by what sounded like sun beds being moved or put out on deck or beer barrells being changed. Complained every day but nothing was done. We did not want to move cabins we lkiked it & our friends were oposite us. However after 4 days we could not stand any more & were promised by the Reception Manager it would be investigated. Next mornign the same happened we rang reception who rang back they were dealing with it & then a steward was sent with a letter. This asked us to attned recption by 6.30am we were there. They stated that we were being moved. We did get assistance to move but had to pack up, unpack then 2 days later pack
again. We did not want to move cabins but sleep won. Some holiday we were so tired. My gripe is the amount of time MSC took to resolve the issue. This was supposed to be a celebration cruise, some what disapointing.
Quality of Food4
The quality & variety of food was excelent. We like fish & there was plenty to choose from in the restaraunt. Self service was not so much variety of fish. The standard was still good.
Entertainment4
The entertainment was good every night as there were so many different languages MSC manage this very well.
Shore Excursions3
The shore excusrsions were good all ports of call were briliant.
Staff3
A waiter who served at lunch time he was Italian. So polite & experienced. The rest of the waiters should take a lesson out of his book. Having said that all staff / crew were polite & friendly. Lack of training is all that is required.
