Having recently returned from a Baltic cruise on board MSC Opera, I can’t stress enough what a fabulous time we have had.
From the moment we stepped on board and was escorted to our cabins by a member of staff, life couldn’t have been easier. The ship itself was amazing, bigger than I had anticipated and spotlessly clean. The staff were so friendly and polite at all times and nothing was too much trouble. The cabin was adequately sized for a family of four with amble room to move around. The kids beds were drop down bunks which were ‘packed away’ by staff as soon as we left the cabin for breakfast and set out at 8pm each night when staff turned down the beds. There were several bars and lounges with entertainment including a lounge specifically for smokers. The evening show in the theatre was amazing with a variety of acts including dancers, jugglers, acrobat, magicians and singers. You could eat all day with breakfast available from 7-11 lunch 12-3, afternoon tea 4-5 and dinner from 6.30 with midnight snacks available too. Excellent standard and choice of food, dinner was 7 courses! The restaurant staff were superbly efficient and friendly. Prices for bar drinks averaged Euro 2.70 for a small beer, coke or fruit juice, although tea, coffee and water was available free at any time. Trips were a little pricey but we discovered that with the exception of St Petersburg, it was easy enough to ‘do your own thing’ which cut down on cost quite dramatically. All in all, an excellent holiday, would seriously recommend it and thank you to Louise at Cruise for helping with the booking!
Quality of Food5
Quality was superb, ate too much as it was all delicious. Buffet breakfast and lunch but waiter service dinner.
Entertainment5
All entertainment was good, acrobats and magician were excellent and female opera singer made your ears ring, her voice was too powerful for a small theatre but quite fantastic.
Shore Excursions5
Only booked 2 trips, rostock was good and St petersburg was my favorite. Remaining places we did our own thing which was just as easy and much cheaper option.
Staff5
The chap who cleaned the cabin, (sorry didn't get his name) was very efficient and friendly and our waiters Juni and Said were fantastic.
Children's Facilities3
My children did not join in the clubs through choice. there seemed to be lots available for up to 12years but a bit more limited for 12 - 16 age group
Onboard Activities3
Activities were available if you wanted to join in but no pressure to do so. Quizes, dance lessons, table football and table tennis contests as well as Bingo!
Cabins5
Plenty of space for a family of 4, 2 fold away bunks and a shower/bathroom. Plenty of cupboard space and the cases fitted under the beds out of the way. Outside cabin with large window, so excellent views.
Overall Rating5

you must have been on a different ship than us if you thought entertainment was good. It was the worse I have ever seen. Not even suitable for kindergarden children. As for Franko with his Piong, pleaseeeeeeeeeeeeee tsomeone throw him overboard and save us. Also regarding the eating I think you are wrong when you say that you culd eat at any tyime. Evening meals were at set time and if you missed your time that was it, no food iunless you paid for the grill.

please try another cruise because if you thought this one was good you would be amazed with another one. I personally thought it was the biggest rip off ever, the most boring ship ever, e,g,bingo the highlight of the day on the ship.Food was only ok, staff were good, drinks at 15%tax extra and 6 euro per day per person for service charge, for what ,to bore us, sorry but never again to cruise on this snoozing ship.

I do not no what cruise you were on but it was not the MSC Opera , the one we were on that finished on the 10/09/10. What a awful holiday we had, I would give the cabin crew and some of dining staff 10 out of 10, the cleanliness of the ship was all so 10 out of 10. Food where do I start would you like Corned Beef as your roast of the day no I here you say and it just gets worse.Everything on the ship is designed to cost you money on average I would think of a number then double it.We would never use this cruise line again.
