We had a fantastic time on the MSC Opera! I am a massive RCI fan and was pleasantly surprised at the level of service we received on the Opera for the MUCH lower price in comparison to RCI. It was my boyfriend’s first cruise and I was concerned about going with a company I didn’t know much about and some of the reviews weren’t great but it didn’t let me down at all and he is now addicted too!

The food was always fab, buffet was hot and varied each day. The pizzas and pastas were wonderful, and the freshly cooked bread was irresistible. The pizzeria was open until mid-night so great for the late night munchies! I have read in other reviews about it being too crowded in the buffet but we always were able to get our food and sit down without any problems. It was obviously more crowded on the sea days but we still found it ok to get our food and find a seat. The service in the main dining room was perfect and the food quality was exceptional. Our waiter, Rambo, was very smiley and attentive. We had room service for breakfast each morning which is free!

The shows were great, much more varied than other ships I’ve been on, we loved the fact that it was different each night not just singing but other things too. The entertainment team really worked hard to put on lots of different activities. I didn’t notice much for families though.

We paid an extra £20ish a day for the all inclusive package, if you’re a drinker it is well worth it. There are over 15 cocktails included and lovely Italian sparkling wine as well as still wine and named brands and mixers. We tried to drink our way through the while drinks menu but failed! Ice creams were included too which was a nice touch.

All in all a wonderful cruise, we would definitely go with MSC if the price is right!
