We sailed on the MSC Musica in October from Venice on a greek islands, dubrovnik and bari trip. Having cruised previously on the Norweigan Jewel, the ship wasn't as colourful - more to european tastes. We had a balcony room midship on the 11th floor which was very nice - modern, clear and everything worked. At the end fo teh day you get what you pay for and with Kids travelling for free, MSC win every time.

The food was good if a little similar most nights. If you like pasta this is the cruise for you. There are 2 main dining rooms and if you have a good cabin, you'll be allocated to the better restaurant. They both serve the same menu, but the ambiance is different - decent restaurant versus diner.

On the negative side the lunches were not great and there isn't free coffee so the cost can stack up. The other gripe would be that the ship sailed from Venice at 6pm and we were on the first sitting so would have missed the sailaway had MSC not lost our luggage!

We travelled with a 2 year old and she loved it.

MSC great value if you've got kids? Very young ones maybe, but older semi-active children that want to do things will not be so impressed .... With an extremely poor rating of only 1 star for Children's Facilities (which is a normal rating on MSC Ships) ... no wonder children are allowed on board free.
