Husband and I cruised MSC Divina for 1 week sailing out of Venice.
Emabarkation was slow and there didn't seem enough staff around to help travellers.
Great Itinery, ship was luxurious.
Entertainment was very good, shows quite professional and suitable for all nationalities. Inside cabins are really small however acceptable for 1 week cruising.
Cleanliness of the ship is fantastic.
The main atrium, with super staircases had swaroski crystals. So beautiful. The decor and design of the ship is grande. The easiest large ship we have ever had to find our way around.
Restaurants were always packed and often in the buffett areas tables were difficult to find. Food everywhere on board was always cold and below standard. The Italians have a lot to learn with regards to catering.
Sun beds were also difficult to find. MOst people had the famous ship orange towels and just left them for hours on the beds stopping people who actually needed them. No staff around to monitor this situation.
Very poor service on decks to order drinks.
Service was poor and staff were stern faced and not welcoming. Staff seemed very miserable. Excursions were far too expensive. Easy and much cheaper to make your own way to the sights.
Bari was easy. Olympia was very easy, Izmir was very easy, Istanbul was easy. Dubrovnic was simple. Use the local transport, usually outside the ports. MSC were reluctant to give any information for people wanting to do their own thing. So unprofessional.
Even Venice was easy enough to DIY. Water taxi right outside the port. Luggage was 4 euro per bag to store at port until your transfer back to airport.
Due to the fact we had poor service and were tricked into accepting flying in and out of Bolognia instead of Marco Polo, we insisted on the 7Euro service charge for each of us to be deducted. They were not very happy to do this initially, and then had a change of heart.
I intend to contact Cruise Specialist with regards to the Bolognia flight for some kind of compensation. A party of eleven Brits who were also on the same flight managed to have £100 each credited to their on board account for the inconvenience of travelling to Bolognia airport.
The transfer time from Bolognia to ship was herendous. Almost 3 hours due to the driver hanging around at airport which we thought for other passengers, however they never materialised.
Quality of Food
Buffet areas and main Black Crab restaurant food always cold and bad quality. Lacked choices.
The Italian night was the best evening performance however, all shows were very entertaining.
