|Cruise Line: MSC Cruises||Times cruised before: 10+|
|Cruise Ship: MSC Divina||Sailed: March, 2013|
|Destination: Mediterranean||Age: 56-65|
We cruised with my 92 year old wheelchair bound father and the first thing I would like to say is that we were treated fantastically by all msc personnel - I can't thank them enough.
The ship itself is absolutely fantastic, with the cabins beeing the best we have ever had.
With my father we ate in the main dining room for every meal, great choice, great food, great service - and the quickest breatfast service I have ever had in a main dining room. The waiters are mainly Indonesian and are excellent.
Service everywhere was great with no waiting - one strange thing for a cruise line was that our cabin stewart was virtually unseen - the room was kept immaculately clean but I couldn't have picked him/her out of a line up - don't expect any towel animals or though.
The announcements (in 6 languages) where kept to a mimimum with english first so not too annoying except for the lifeboat drill which seemed to last the whole of the first day and was just tedious.
The excursions were poor compared to other ships we have been on, whilst they were the going price for cruise ships, there weren't very many to choose from and in some ports none available for wheelchair/reduced mobility people.
The shows were of a good standard but repetitive and the range of other activities poor.
Price of drinks are, as many other cruise lines, expensive especially beer and soft drinks (over £3 for a can of coke) - spirits and cocktails seemed more competive with other cruise lines (don't forget the 15% service charge on board) - do yourself a favour and by the drinks package in advance - it costs approximately £23 a day (no service charge) and includes a widerange of items plus coffees, water, icecream - even my dad made money on it! and you weren't made to feel 2nd class citizens using it.
Overall a fantastic ship/holiday at an exceptionally reasonable price - I just don't understand why they get so many negitive comments - one final point we asked for the daily service charge to be removed (expecting a fight) and were greeted with "yes, certainly" - it was as simple as that
|Quality of Food|
|all shows the same ie bit of singing/dancing - but of excellent quality|
|poor range especially for wheelchair/ reduce mobility|
|all staff fantasic but credit must go to the two sailors who lifted dad and wheelchair on and off the tender at Kotor|
|by far the best we have ever had|
