Recently returned from canaries cruise on the island escape 19th-26th feb.Had a premier cabin which was fine, spotless and had everything we needed. We had a fabulous time. It was our silver wedding whilst we were away, we arranged for the celebrate in style package, which my husband and I thought was very good value, flowers, choc dipped strawberries, champagne, photo, a cake, breakfast in bed and an announcement in the island chat. The food was excellent, loads of choice. All staff were very happy in their work and were very helpful. Our cabin steward was great. Entertainment was excellent.Had some brilliant photos taken.Plenty of well organised excursions. You did feel a bit of movement at sea, but you are on a ship afterall. Unfortunately we didnt get to Madeira but that couldnt be helped as they had had terrible weather. We just had a fantastic time and were made to feel very special whilst we were on the cruise.
Quality of Food5
We ate in the island retaurant the most, food was excellent, loads of choice and a chance to dress up if you wanted to. The beachcomber served the same food but was more relaxed. You paid a supplement for the Oasis, but worth it for a special occasion. Plenty of varied choice in all restaurants.
Entertainment5
All entertainment was brilliant. Elvis tribute, steven simone soul and motown singer, The musical shows were brilliant, just couldnt pick out a favourite as the were all brilliant.
Shore Excursions4
Went on the souks and fantasia trip. We felt better going on a orgsanised excursion in Morocco. We also used the shuttle bus in lanzorote.
Staff5
All the staff were brilliant., but two members of staff impressed the most. Claire the social hostess who organised our celebrate in style package and jamie our cabin steward who kept our cabin spotless, tidy, and made us animals out of our towels every day.

Onboard Activities5
Loads of activities on board, you got a daily chat paper everyday which kept you informed about what was going on, were you needed to be and what time you needed to be there.
Cabins5
Yes compact but had everything we needed. Kept spotlessly clean twice a day.

Opinion: Agree Comment by Nicol, Cumbernauld (10 Mar 10 20:11) about this REVIEW
Glad to hear that you had such a good time on the Island Escape. A breath of fresh air to hear the good side of this ship instead of the reviews which harp on about it's faults. I feel sorry for the staff on this ship - what must they think of the adverse and unfair comments but so pleased to read that you thought they were brilliant. Thanks for this positive review.
