We have just returned from a week on the Island Escape. We only booked 3 weeks before the cruise and paid a bargain price, although after reading the reviews we nearly had second thoughts. We are so glad that we didn't! The entertainment was excellent and varied, the Musical shows were particularly good and the other entertainment in the other venues were good (although the band Increase we didn't enjoy so much). We ate mainly in the Island restuarant, the food was of a good quality, well presented and with a good choice, we didn't see any point in paying another £30 to eat in the Oasis. The beachcomber was okay for a cuppa and snack at teatime but a bit of a bunfight to find a table, cutlery and a plate at the same time, quality of food was okay though. We had a outside cabin on deck seven which was plenty big enough, clean but a bit threadbare. Cabin staff were wonderful and we had our bedlinen changed on a daily basis. All staff on board were friendly and helpful and for the money we paid we were amazed at what we got for our holiday. I liked the informal atmosphere, I don't need a chocolate on my pillow to make me enjoy a holiday don't be put off by all the moaners it's terrific value for money.

We ate most in the Island restuarant which was staffed by excellent people and the hygiene was second to none
Entertainment
The nusical theatre shows were the highlight but all other entertainment was enjoyable

We went to quizzes, demonstrations and all the musical activities.
Cabins
The cabin was of adequate size (we didn't have time to spend much time in ther) There was plenty of clothes storage space and it was a bit past it's best in decor but clean

Why has it taken you 12 months to write a review???? Bit out of date and misleading 12 months later!! This boat certainly is not the same now.

Must be 2009 ,because if it was 2010 then surely they would not be back , so they are a bit late with their review

No it was 2010, 2009 is a mistake. We had a good experience, it is advertised as a three star cruise and the food and entertainment were certainly above this standard, at the price we paid we would certainly go again
