Having been on a cruise the year before and absolutely loved every minute of it, I could not wait for this cruise to come quick enough, that is until I got on the ship, it is an old boneshaker, Island Escape you mus be joking, (this was no escape)Smoking is (or was)allowd on this ship, everywhere you went you stank of smoke, the ship is constantly vibrating well kind of surging, I found out it used to be some kind of vehicle ferry, We had an outside cabin but the window were so dirty you could not see out properly, having said that the staff were very good and looked after us well, the food was Fair, this was the worst holiday I have been on, it was a cruse and stay but I wish I had stayed at home, never will I cruise with Island cruises again.(I will be sticking with Princess cruises in future yhey are Brilliant

I certainly did not see any smoking on the ship apart from the designated smoking areas on the outside decks. I also did not feel that the ship was vibrating and surging. For goodness sake.....stop moaning! You probably were so busy moaning that you would not let yourself enjoy the cruise. It is your own fault if you did not enjoy yourself.......just remember that there were many many more people on the cruise who were having a great time!

One star overall - is that an error or were your individual scores an error - they do not correlate.

I was on this trip and have previously cruised with Princess and Cunard a number of times. We booked this for the places it visited then read the write ups!!!. The ship is old and parts could do with a serious revamp including some cabins - it was the shabbiest cabin I have ever stayed in.Many people felt the same yet by the end of the week people were rebooking for next year. The reason was the friendliness and effort from the staff. The captain is quite a character. The quality of some of the entertainers was first class and better than on Queen Victoria/Mary. The food was good. If you can book this last minute at a reduced price then it`s a bargain otherwise not VFM at full price.

You really did your homework then! If you expected Island to be even a similar standard to Princess then I'm truly amazed......Wilba

Overall you've given this cruise a one-star rating yet two parts have been rated four-star with three others rated three-star. Confused? I certainly am.....
