was sooo excited about going on our first cruise but this exceeded our expectations. thomson flight was fine - individual TVs and a short 2 hour flight to palma. boarding the ship was effortless and speedy. yes the cabin was small but having nothing to compare it to being our first cruise we were satisfied. maybe next time i would get a window though as missed natural light - though we were rarely actually in the cabin. the one and only bug bear of the whole cruise was the noise of the air conditioning in the cabin as we were on deck 9 and near the main air con unit - but did get used to it :) the food was amazing - so much choice and we certainly put some weight on - could not fault it at all. drinks were reasonably priced and we drank cocktail of the day for £2.90 most times. so much to do on board - entertainment was fantastic and we couldnt fit everything in what we wanted to do and didnt even make it to the late night disco as was so tired after full fun packed days excursions - corsica - 5 min walk from ship was the harbour, cafes, gorgeous beach - a nice relaxing day rome - amazing - we paid £80 for the full day trip and though it was expensive it was worth it for all we saw. we chose the trip with the inside of the colleseum and queue jumped as part of the excursion - saved us 4 hours. need to go back to go to the vatican city as everyone who went on that trip said it was also amazing. pisa - smaller than expected but beautiful - really enjoyed it and again did an organised trip which was expensive at £40 - we could have done this trip ourselves a lot cheaper but again we didnt mind in the end as was a great day cannes - my favourite trip - loved it! mahon - the sail into this port and when docked is just beautiful and this is the only day we got a lie in as dont get there til 11am ish. a lovely little laid back town. overall, loved every minute. we added a weeks stay in a hotel in palma nova on after the cruise and were so disappointed and spent the week missing the cruise. next time i will just do 2 weeks on the cruise. apparently it is being refurbished this winter too so even better! we nearly booked for next year when on board - good job we didnt as I found out in palma i am pregnant - but for certain my next holiday will be a cruise and more than likely will be on island escape
