Positives: Staff were very friendly -- cabin stewards, bar and restaurant staff. Cabin was a good size -- although Whirlpool bath was a joke!
Negatives: We had open seating and often had to wait more than 45 mins for a table (to share). Seemed the problem was a group from Scientific American of 200 people that were booked into both restaurants anytime. When we tried to book it was after 8:15 pm to get a table, which was after the late seating. Food often was served cold -- both in main restaurant and buffet and I sent mine back several times.. Entertainment was pretty poor -- we left 2 main shows because the sound was distorted and too loud. There were no talks about the history of the area we were passing and going to -- e.g. the Dardenelles, Bosphorus, and the Crimea.

I agree with your comments regarding the restaurant. I was on the Eurodam in June (to the Baltics) and the dining arrangements were a bit of a disaster. We were booked on open dining, but no one explained the arrangements to book, etc and the rules kept changing as we tried to do so! So often difficult to get a booking. There were also corporate groups on the ship and they seemed to have priority. Holland American need to get to grips with their restaurant arrangements as it does spoil what is otherwise reasonably good ships.
