The Braemar is a lovely ship - spotlessly clean and decor good. Unfortunately we were in a four berth cabin right at the front of the ship and encountered the worst seas I have ever had. We spent most of the sailing time sitting on the comfortable sofas in the Braemar mid ship because we didn't want to go back to our cabin, and on one night in particular things were falling off the shelves and we didn't sleep a wink. I have sailed on several occasions and never had this problem and felt sorry for the people who were on a first time cruise and the ones who had to had injections from the doc. I sailed through the Bay of Biscay in May and it was as calm as a millpond! Just the luck of the drawer I suppose. However it wouldn't put me off sailing on the Braemar again but a different iterinary. The entertainment was excellent - far better than on larger ships I have been on - the food was good and plenty of it (am now on a strict diet). Will make sure I have a cabin midships next time.

Sadly this is a problem with the Braemar. It has quite a shallow hull and does rock and roll quite a bit even on a relatively smooth sea, also the creaking noises are a little unsettling, probably due to it being 'stretched' in the middle. Still a good ship though.
